The Congress of the National Liberal Party (PNL), during which the chairman of the formation will be elected, has started, on Saturday, at Romexpo.
The current chair of the PNL Ludovic Orban and Prime Minister Florin Citu are running for the party's chair.
The congress is also attended by President Klaus Iohannis and the leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), Kelemen Hunor.
Before the start of the PNL Congress, the chair of the organization committee, Theodor Stolojan, appealed to the participants to maintain physical distance and not create groups around the guests, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
Access of participants in the works to the works of the congress was made only on the basis of a vaccination certificate, a negative result of a RT-PCR or rapid antigen test, or of a certificate proving prior contraction of the disease.
